摘要

The new tricopper(ii) complex [Cu_3(μ_3-BO)(H _3L)_3][BF_4]·2H_2O (1) with an unprecedented diamondoid-like [Cu_3B(μ-O)_6] core has been easily generated by self-assembly in an aqueous medium from Cu(NO _3)_2, NaBF_4, NaOH and Bis-Tris (H_5L) biobuffer, (HOCH_2)_3CN(CH_2CH_2OH) _2. Compound 1 efficiently promotes the mild single-pot hydrocarboxylation, by CO and H_2O, of various linear and cyclic C_n (n = 2-8) alkanes into the corresponding C_(n+1) carboxylic acids.
