The dimeric starting materials [Ru(n~6-arene)Cy_2 (arene=mes,C_6Me_6) react with the functionalized phosphines Pr~i_2PCH_2X (X=CH_2OMe,CO_2Me) to give the mononuclear compounds [Ru(n~6-arene)(K.P-Pr~i_2PCH_2X)Cl_2] 3-6 which upon treatment with AgPF_6 afford the chelate complexes [Ru(Ti6-arene)(K~2p,O-Pr~i_2PCH_2CH_2OMe)Cl]PF6 7,8 and [Ru(Tis-arene){K~2p,O-Pr~i_2PCH_2C(O)OMe}Cl]PF_6 9,10,respectively.Complexes 7 and 8 react with CO and CNBu1 to yield the chiral-at-metal compounds [Ru(r|6-arene)(KP-Pr~i_2PCH_2CH_2OMe)(L)Cl]PF_6 11-14.
