The discovery that nitric oxide plays an important role in mammalian bioregulation and immunology,has stimulated intense interest in the chemistry of NO and its derivates such as transition metal nitrosyl complexes.Such complexes have been intensively studied and a number of comprehensive reviews of the reactions and properties of nitrosyl complexes have been published over the past decades.
