摘要

A variety of injectable fillers are available to correct dermal and subcutaneous volume loss. Injectable poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) was initially approved as a cosmetic filler in Europe in 1999 and subsequently for correction of HIV-related lipoatro-phy in the United States in 2004. In 2009, the FDA expanded the approved uses to include correction of shallow to deep nasolabial fold contour deficiencies and other facial wrinkles in immunocompetent people. We report a case of acute parotitis in a 67-year-old woman caused by a PLLA volume restoration procedure.
