This most interesting article explores the concept that pulsed (nonthermal) electromagnetic energy field therapy (PEMF) can improve the process of blepharoplasty wound healing.1 We are all familiar with radiofrequency energy delivered in continuous fashion and producing heat (e.g., cautery and mono- and bipolar skin-tightening technologies), but if the radiofrequency energy is pulsed, the heat is eliminated and other cutaneous effects of the electromagnetic energy pulse may be studied.
