摘要

Three-dimensional in vivo optical skin imaging has been shown to provide a rapid, quantitative assessment of surface topography and facial lines after nonablative laser treatments.11 This article evaluates the efficacy of a new methodology for assessing contour improvement using a stereoimage optical topometry (SOT). Although the SOT system is believed to be useful in individual scar study, it may have limitations in global grading or general assessment, but combined with the conventional visual grading system, it may detect degrees of acne scar or wrinkle improvement more objectively and quantitatively. The use of objective observers combined with the subjective evaluation of the patient regarding scar improvement and the SOT system may improve our ability to objectively and quantitatively evaluate the treatment of scars and surface irregularities in the skin.
