China's new ethylene facilities with a total capacity of 2.3 million tons per year will be put into operation by the end of 2005. As a result, the demand growth for naphtha is estimated to be 7.2 million tons in this period of time, outpacing the domestic production growth. China is expected to be become a net naphtha importer in 2005.
