There will soon be a gap on the driveway where the Q3 used to be. Sue Baker bids a fond farewell to her hunky Audi. Parting is such sweet sorrow. That sentiment of Shakespeare's young lovers in Romeo and Juliet is pretty much how I feel about saying goodbye to the Q3, or 'Q' as he's become affectionately known in our household. I'm parting with my Audi hunk, and it is a wrench. I know that most blokes regard cars in the feminine gender, but Q is more a rugged-metro kind of a car, with bulging biceps clothed in a sophisticated city suit. When the Q3 arrived on the Diesel Car fleet back in November 2011, I welcomed becoming custodian of Audi's then newest model. The hunky, chunky compact SUV has a zest to match my own enthusiastic approach to life, and I called it a double-shot cappuccino of a car. Now, nearly a year later and with the return of another autumn, caffeine time is over. Q's behaviour through the intervening months has done nothing to change that initial assessment of the car's smart looks and zestful nature. We liked it a lot when we first drove it, and experiencing it on a daily basis through a full rotation of the calendar has confirmed that view entirely.
