Stored Energy Systems LLC (SENS) has developed a battery charger for generator sets designed to work more efficiently and to protect batteries from becoming overcharged. Introduced at the recent Power Gen International show, the MicroGenius 150 incorporates high-frequency power conversion technology, the same technology used in the power supplies of laptops, cell phones and many appliances, said Doug Kaewert, chief operating officer for the Longmont, Co.-based company. That technology helps make the charger lighter and more power efficient than others, he said.
