In May 2007, health ministers from all member states of the World Health Organisation will meet at the World Health Assembly in Geneva to discuss the crisis in the current drug development system. Across the developing world, patients and governments struggle to access new essential medicines that are too expensive. At the same time, health care workers in tropical countries struggle to treat common health problems with old, outdated medicines because too few new ones are being developed fl].
