Since the first diagnoses in April 2013, pork producers and herd veterinarians worked to mitigate the spread of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDv) as it devastatedlarge swaths of swine across the United States. Despite efforts, infection and reinfection of herds thought to have immunity persisted. However, there is now hope that investigators have identified the virus' source of entry into the United States.
