摘要

Among many technologies applicable to manufacturing near-net shape components of magnesium and its alloys, casting is the most widely utilized. Depending on the part's geometry, the properties required and quantity, a particular technique can be selected from nearly all the conventional gravity and pressure casting methods. For thin-wall components, both hot and cold chamber die casting are equally explored, but for larger parts, such as laptop housing, the cold chamber process prevails.
