The Suncorp Metway Stadium in Brisbane,Australia has won the Queensland Australian Steel Institute's Structural Steel Engineering Design Award for 2003 after undergoing major renovations.The redevelopment included the addition of 23,000 sq m of steel framed roofing to cover the grandstands.More than 100,000 liters of Akzo Nobel's international~(R)products were used on the 7,000 ton structure,including Interzinc~(R)42,Intergard~(R)475,and Interfine~(R)629 in a variety of colors.Technology advances in the development of coatings have opened up possibilities in the fields of architecture and construction.
