Sartomer Company has announced the commercial availability of its line of styrene maleic anhydride (SMA~R) imide resins,a group of multi-functional cationic additives that impact performance properties during the wet end and paper coating stages of paper manufacturing.In the wet end stage,SMA imide resins aid in sheet formation by serving as process-enhancing flocculants that bond to wet paper fibers,retaining fines,and decreasing linting.
