The demand for wood protection coatings and preservatives is fore-cast to increase 3.4% per year to 3.4 billion by the year 2011 despite a challenging market environment,according to Wood Protection Coatings&Preservatives,a new study from Cleveland-based industry market research firm The Freedonia Group,Inc.The challenges stem primarily from a continued weakness in the exterior applica-tions sector,specifically regarding siding applications,which is a key part of the wood coatings market.
