摘要

DziegielewsM and colleagues1 present a cohort follow-up study of patients at their institution with oropharyngeal carcinoma (OPC) treated with transoral robotic surgery for primary tumor resection and neck dissection(s) with or without adjuvant therapy. This report seeks to delineate short- and long-term function, quality of life (QOL), and predictors of their poor outcome (univariable) in a population of patients with OPC and 85% positivity for pl6 immunohistochemical staining. In so doing, it addresses important issues.A mini-epidemic of human papillomavirus (HPV)-driven OPC is being tracked worldwide. In the context of a number of different treatment approaches and philosophies, what and where does this study contribute?
