摘要

Treatment strategies for severe airhythmias have evolved significantly based on the recent development of non-pharmacological procedures such as catheter ablation, implantable car-dioverter defibrillator (ICD), and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT). Because of the invasiveness of these procedures, their indications should be carefully determined after thorough consideration of their short and long-term effects. Since the results of large-scale clinical studies in Europe and the United States have suggested that ICDJCRT be used for more patients for the primary prevention of sudden death in Japan, appropriate risk stratification is required to determine indications of these procedures.
