摘要

Nutrient removal in three different polluted water samples has been made by introducing the water hyacinth, Eichhornia cressipes. Changes in the chemical characteristics and nutrient contents of the samples were recorded on 7th, 14lh and 21s1 day. Carbonates and Bicarbonates were moderately removed from the domestic sewage whereas Nitrates, Phosphates, Silicates Iron were efficiently removed from all the three samples.
