The reaction of mesitylacetylene under high pressure was carried out using a high hydrostatic pressure reactor. The structure of the product was evaluated by elemental analysis, FTIR, size exclusion chromatography (SEC), 13C NMR spectra and field desorption mass (FDMS) spectra. The insoluble product was the mesitylacetylene polymer while the insoluble product was a polycyclic aromatic compound.
