The basic elements of any scientic paper reporting the results of an experimental study are the sections Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion. Furthermore, a brief abstract is needed for a quick overview of what the paper is all about. This is the structure of a paper. It is the contents that make the difference between a good and a poor paper. The contents reect how the investigation was carried out, so the basis for a good scientic paper is actually made when the study is being designed.
