摘要

Giant magnetoimpedance (GOMI) effect has been observed in glass-coated amorphous Co_(83.2)Mn_(7.6)Si_(5.8)B_(3.3) microwire. The magneto-dance (MI) of this sample has been studied up to a frequency of 11 MHz and varying a dc magnetic field (H_(dc)) within +-140 Oe. A maximum change of 53 percent in MI has been observed around a frequency of 4 MHz. The application of an external stress changes the MI results to a large extent. The magnetization of the same sample has also been measured in the presence of different tensile stresses to understand the domain structure and magnetoimpedance results.
