摘要

The Na_2 O-rich portion of the ternary diagram Ln_2O_3-Na_2O-B_2O_3 (Ln=Y, Gd) has been investigated. A ternary phase of composition Na_3Ln(BO_3)_2 has been found for Ln=Y, Gd. These compounds crystallize in the monoclinic space group P2_1/c. The structure has been determined for the compound Na_3Y(BO_3)_2 from powder X-ray diffraction. The structure can be described as being made up of isolatedBO_3 triangles held together by the yttrium and sodium ions. The yttrium atoms have seven-fold coordination in a covalent BO_3 matrix.The sodium atoms have seven-, six- and four-fold coordination.
