Mediterranean ?sh fauna exhibit high species diversity (Psomadakis et al., 2006). Golani et al. (2006) reported 470 bony and cartilaginous ?sh species in the eastern part of the Mediterranean, however, the record of exotic ichthyofauna is increasing, especially with Lessepsian migrants. Bilecenoglu et al. (2002)reported 448 ?sh species belonging to 133 families from Turkish seas, which are dominated by Atlanto–Mediterranean species (63.8%), followed by Mediterranean endemics (14.5%), cosmopolitan species (14.1%) and Lessepsian migrants (7.4%).
