摘要

Benign tracheobronchial stenosis can be caused by a variety of non-neoplastic conditions of various known and unknown causes. The management of these patients can be quite challenging. Treatment options vary from conservative observation to surgical resection of the affected areas. There are patients who have lesions that are not amenable to surgical resection or who have underlying medical conditions that prevent consideration of a surgical option. For this group, alternative treatment options are being developed and include simple mechanical dilatation, laser or diathermy resection, and airway stents.
