Even as a kid, Ken Bloom was interested in transportation. On long family drives he'd try to figure out the optimal number of toll booths required to maximize traffic flow-"an interesting and unique perspective as a child," he admits. Now 40, Bloom has turned a childhood fascination into a high-powered career as CEO and president of the Internet-based portal INTTRA since 2000. As such, he has pioneered the use of the Internet/Web to create an entire different way for the ocean trade to conduct business.
