摘要

The sorption capacity of the brown alga Fucus vesiculosus for copper, cadmium, lead and nickel was investigated. Metal sorption yields were modified using different kinds of pretreatment reagents: HCl, CaCl2, formaldehyde, Na2CO3 and NaOH. The Langmuir isotherm was applied to both the non-treated and all treated biomass tests. Calcium chloride was the only chemical that improved the maximum sorption capacity of the biomass.
