A group of scientists has recently published results on a Phase II trial of a vaccine against dengue fever. Published in The Lancet, the results indicate for the first time the possibility of a vaccine against this prevalent disease.Dengue fever is a viral infection prevalent in many tropical and subtropical regions of the world. The virus is transmitted by several species of the Ades mosquito, and causes a fever — ranging from mild to severe - that can lead to dengue hemorrhagic fever, a potentially lethal condition.
