Seven extracts were selected from in-house natural products library that have reportedly and/or historically showed anti-inflammatory effects and/or anti-tumorigenic properties (Supplemental Table 1). B16F1 cells were treated with a single dose (10(jug/mL) and the visual change in color was observed initially. Extract from FL (G. offlcinalis: A) significantly appeared to whiten the melanoma cell pellet, unlike the other extracts (Fig. 1 A) and its anti-melanogenic effect was further confirmed by significant decrease of melanin content in a single dose (Fig. IB) and in a dose-dependent manner (Fig. 1C).
