摘要

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by intense proliferation and abnormal differentiation of kerati-nocytes as well as inflammation of lymphocytes, neutrophils and dendritic cells. Immunologically, infiltrated T cells and dendritic cells are thought to trigger the abnormal keratinocyte proliferation, acanthosis and hyperkeratosis seen in psoriasis via various cytokines. Among the cytokines, expression of both tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and its receptors is reported to be up-regulated in lesional skin of plaque psoriasis [1,2]. On the other hand, monoclonal antibodies against TNF (e.g. infliximab and adalimuma) or soluble TNF receptor (Etanercept) have been in clinical use and are known to have dramatic effect on this disease. Thus, TNF signaling may play a major role in the pathogenesis of this disease. However, the mechanisms underlying the overexpression of TNF and the receptors are still unclear.
