摘要

IL-33 is a member of the IL-1 family that signals through a heterodimer receptor complex comprising an IL-33-specific ST2L and IL-1R accessory protein (IL-lRAcP) [1], which is shared by other members of the IL-1 family. ST2L is expressed on activated mast cells [1], T helper type 2 (Th2) lymphocytes, basophils, eosinophils, NK and NKT cells, dendritic cells, and neutrophils [2]. Increasing evidence suggests that IL-33 is an important key "alarmin". IL-33 is constitutively expressed in the nuclei of endothelial and epithelial cells [2], and is released from necrotic cells [3]. IL-33 is the key component responsible for initiating pro-inflammatory responses, and also has immune-modulating properties favoring for Th2 responses [4,5] and neutrophil activation [6].
