摘要

The larval instars i.e. Ist, IInd, IIIrd, IVth and Vth of common mormon butterfly last for 2.40 +/- 0.34; 3.99 +/- 0.71; 3.99 +/- 0.71; 3.52 +/- 0.34 and 3.47 +/- 0.31 days respectively and their body length measured 4.81 +/- 0.54 mm, 9.53 +/- 0.81 mm; 19.47 +/- 0.96 mm; 27.12 +/- 1.32 mm and 36.17 +/- 1.24 mm, respectively during different larval stages. The total larval period of common mormon was observed to be 17.37 +/- 2.41 days. The pupal period was 12.45 +/- 1.11 days. From Ist instar to adult emergence, the total development period was 29.82 +/- 3.52 days. This butterfly was active in January, February and April months of the year. The percentage of survival from egg to adult was maximum in the month of February (75%) and was minimum (60%) in month of April.
