摘要

To study a cost effective alternative substrate, Pleurotus ostreatus (white bazidiomata) experiment was carried out to investigate the cultivation of oyster mushroom on different substrates. Mushroom cultivation is a profitable agribusiness. This cultivation system can improve the economic status of the farmer. Field experiment was conducted at College of Agriculture, Zabol University, during 2008-2009 growing season. Experiment was carried out as factorial CRD design with three replications. Factors were substrate (wheat and barley straw) and level of spawn (50, 70, 90, 110, 130, 150 and 170 g/bag). Maximum yield (weight of fresh mushrooms harvested at maturity) was obtained on barley straw substrate at 150 g/bag spawn level. Barley straw was best substrate for oyster mushroom cultivation.
