The Journal of Health Communication has evolved in its 18th volume year to a monthly journal with more than 1000 pages/volume year and an online presence that reaches people globally. The impact of the field of health communication is beyond what many skeptics ever dreamed. In 2012, we received more than 450 submissions for publication in the midst of a communications revolution in which nearly everyone on the planet has access to communication via technology—a mobile device, television, radio, or print information.
