Specificity of the dose-dependent prolonged response of the four-month-old juvenile roach Rutilus rutilus to the effects of chlorophos in the embryonic period of development was studied. A stimulating effect on the size-weight growth of minimal and maximum toxicant doses testifying to the nonlinear pattern of the dose curve was revealed. Specific attention was paid to the analysis of the negative effect of ultralow concentrations of the enzymatic poison applied on the survival, linear-weight growth, early stages of gonad formation, and the histophysiological state of cells of liver parenchyma. Suggestions were made concerning possible reasons of high sensitivity of the developing juvenile roach to the effects of ultralow amounts of toxicant on the earliest stages of its life cycle.
