Marna P. Borgstrom, FACHE, is president and CEO of Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS), based in New Haven, Connecticut, and CEO of Yale-New Haven Hospital. YNHHS is composed of Bridgeport, Greenwich, and Yale-New Haven hospitals and the Northeast Medical Group, a physician foundation. Yale-New Haven Hospital is the 1,541-bed primary teaching hospital for Yale School of Medicine. Ms. Borgstrom began her career at Yale-New Haven Hospital more than 35 years ago as a postgraduate fellow. She subsequently held various staff and management positions, assuming the role of executive vice president and chief operating officer in 1994 and her current position in 2005. She serves on a number of national and local boards of directors, including VHA Inc. in Dallas, the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), the Coalition to Protect America's Health Care, and the Connecticut Hospital Association. She also chairs the administrative board of AAMC's Council of Teaching Hospitals.
