摘要

Fifteen accessions of green gram were screened under laboratory conditions for their resistance, to Callosobruchus maculatus under no-choice conditions. Accessions like EC 98674 and PLM 209 were identified as resistant to C. maculatus in terms of respective lower survival percentage (33.93 and 40.58%), prolonged developmental period (29.60 and 29.28 days) and lesser index of suitability (0.0517 and 0.0550). The variety CO 6, which was used as a control, resulted in highest survival (81.82 %), shortest developmental period (22.50 days) and highest index of suitability (0.0853). Hence these accessions can be effectively used as resistant donors in varietal improvement programmes.
