Parasitization efficiency of egg parasitoid, Trichogramma chilonis on different cultivars of cotton was studied in 2001. T. chilonis was released 13 times from July to September at weekly Interval @ 1,50,000 per ha on six cultivars, viz. LD 327, LH 1556, Ganga Kaveri 151, Ankur 651, Dhawa! 2 and LHH 144. Seven sprays of comparatively sater insecticides were also applied during this period. The mean parasitization of Helicoverpa armigera eggs varied from 5.74 per cent in LD 327 to 7.24 per cent in LHH144 but there were no significant differences among them. The mean incidence of bollworms among the intact fruiting bodies was lowest (0.59%) in LD 327. The incidence among the green bolls was lowest (3.01%) in Dhawal 2 and it was significantly lower than all other cultivars except Ankur 651 (3.74 %) and Ganga Kaveri 151 (3.73%). The highest yield (24.0 q/ha) was obtained in Ankur 651 and it was significantly higher than all other cultivars. Based on the parasitization, bollworm incidence and yield, Ankur 651 proved the best.
