We examine the question of the identification of undercutting of the teeth of conical and hypoidal gearwheels. On the basis of the formulated singularity theorem, we resolve the question of finding all the singular points and the cusp lines of the envelopes of the family of generating surfaces. We obtain the sections of the engagement surface and the mapping of the limiting line on the generating surface. Two techniques are proposed for identifying undercutting of the circular teeth of the conical and hypoidal gearwheels.
