摘要

The present investigation was carried out to study susceptibility and Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of Ceftriaxone (C) and Vancomycin (V) individually and Fixed Dose combination (FDC) of Ceftriaxone Vancomycin (CV) in Escherichia coll, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Bacillus subtilis. Chemical Vector Mediated Compatibility (CMVC) was obtained at the R & D Centre for CV and ratio of C and V was taken as 2:1. The MIC was determined by broth microdilution method as per the standard National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards using the agar dilution procedure that conforms to the guidelines. The Bacterial Susceptibility Test was performed for each of the specified bacteria by determining the lysis zone for the combination and each antibiotic individually. The lytic zone measurement was more in combination than in individual antibiotics in all the bacterial plates under study. No growth was observed at higher concentration of 128, 64, 32, 16, 8 and 4 mu g/ml C, V and CV for all the organisms . The study suggested that the MIC was least for all the three organisms for CV as compared to that of C or V alone.
