摘要

The design process of a casing program involves the selection of setting depths, casing sizes and grades of steel that will lead to a safe drilling and completion of a well to withstand all encountered loads during the life of the well. The selection of casing setting depth is a very important task in preparing the well plan. Many aspects, such as lithology, over pressured formations, shallow gases, lost circulation and troublesome zones, directional well profiles and regulations must be considered in this selection.
