摘要

A term male infant was delivered by an elective Caesarean section following an antenatal diagnosis of moderate-sized omphalocele. The omphalocele was moderately large and contained the liver. It was not amenable to primary closure. The infant had no other associated anomalies and had a normal karyotype. There was no respiratory compromise in the initial neonatal period. After initial stabilisation, Acticoat (Smith & Nephew Medical Ltd, Hull, England) dressings were applied to the omphalocele sac regularly (Fig. 1) every third day until the infant was three months old when near satisfactory skin cover was achieved.
