Sirs: Paraneoplastic opsoclonus-myoclonus is most commonly associated with neuroblastoma in children, but it also occurs with a variety of neoplasms in adults, particularly small-cell lung cancer and breast cancer. It has also been seen with chondrosarcoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma, and carcinoma of the ovary, uterus, bladder, thyroid, and thymus . There has been only one other reported case of opsoclonus-myoclonus associated with malignant melanoma . We describe paraneoplastic opsoclonus-myoclonus in the presence of malignant melanoma.A 59-year-old woman developed dizziness and increasing gait unsteadiness 4 weeks before admission. These symptoms worsened progressively, and she was unable to walk without support within 2 weeks. Subsequently, involuntary movements of her eyes appeared. She had noticed a vaginal discharge 1 month before the dizziness occurred. Her past medical history was unremarkable, apart from a 10-year history of hypertension.
