Why dedicate two issues of Clinics in Dermatology to ethics? Because this is a hot topic that is mandated by many of our state licensing organizations and is to be addressed by us regularly. My interest in this topic began when my physician-husband decided, at the age of 48, to obtain his law degree and specialize in health care law and ethics. Simultaneously, our son was in law school. Although he was accepted as a JAG officer in the Air Force, he also developed an interest and expertise in health care law and ethics.
