The modern requirements for the protection of human health and environment call for the optimization of the rates, terms, methods and type of fertilizersThe achievements of the agrochemical science have resulted in the development of organic fertilizers of different origin that ensure balanced plant nutrition with minimum residues in the environment below the allowed international standardsThe preparation Lumbricol is a new liquid modification of the organic fertilizer, obtained from the Red California Worm (Lumbricus rubellus) manure, defined as lumbricompost in Decree No. 22 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.The testing of this organic preparation in pot flower species: impatiens - varieties MagnumPink andSunHarmony Violet, and petunia {Petunia x hybrid) varieties - Surfinia Giant Purple and Surfinia Hot Red revealed that Lumbricol stimulated growth and lead to the increase of flower size.The best results were reported for Lumbricol concentration of 1.0%. The product was not phytotoxic for the impatiens and petunia varieties involved in the study.
