UV curable Acrylic Hot Melt PSA combine the benefits of the acrylic chemistry with the attractiveness of hot melt PSA without their specific disadvantages as the temperature,UV,solvent and aging sensitivity and poor transparency of conventional hot melt PSA and the limited water resistance of acrylic dispersions.For some applications neither the acrylic dispersion nor the hot melt PSA technology is competitive to solvent-based acrylics.Considering the specific properties of UV curable acrylic hot melt PSA,this technology contains a high potential to be very competitive to solvent based acrylics,particularly because of the ecological and toxicological safety of UV curable acrylic hot melt PSA.A coating machine for the production of clear on clear laminates has been developed by Pagendarm BYT and its strategic partners to enable customers to profit from this technology.Production of high transparent film laminates with coating weights down to 10 g/m~2 at web speeds up to 600 m/min as well as direct coatings of foam and woven material has been realized on a pilot scale coating machine.
