ARX, the winder I am about to show you, is set up in a two meter, seven layer line with five extruders, which has a maximum net output of 1600 kg/hour. Innovations include for one that it has three turret spindles, on rotating turret, made of carbon fibre or upon request of a different low friction material. Secondly, it virtually has no mechanical limitations regarding running speed, and thirdly, it can process either small or heavy and large rolls, so-called Jumbo rolls weighing up to 52 kilos, with a diameter of 420 mm or 17.5". Not to forget that the new winder can work both with bleed trims between the rolls or with diverging frames for bleedless operation. All the rollers are driven with servomotors without nip rolls in order to guarantee a perfect roll's edge with no wrinkles, even when processing thin gauge films. And, last but not least, winding is even possible on 76 mm or 3-inch cores. The cores can be manually loaded in storage bins or, as an option, an automatic core bin loader can be supplied. The shafts will not swing or cantilever to unload the rolls; the unloading phase is not based on side pushers: the rolls are gently taken out by a cradle-system to avoid roll edge denting.
