Plastics with barrier properties are required in many applications these days. This applies not only to the area of packagings, but also to plastic casings as well as pipes and containers for water and chemicals. During an event in Winterthur (Switzerland) on 9th April, the focus group Polymer Surfaces of the Nano-Cluster Bodensee addressed the topic Nanotechnology for improved Barrier Properties - Status of technology and industrial applications.
