摘要

This paper introduces a model for solar sludge drying in order to optimize process design and operation. Several ways to model the drying kinetics are discussed. Evaporation, organic substrate biodegradation, radiative, convective, conductive, and biological thermal phenomena were modeled. The model deals with process dynamics and drying efficiency by taking into account impact of optimization means such as windrow turning frequency, air renewal, and destratification fans management. Validation was achieved on one drying cycle of an industrial unit located in north-west of France.
