Introduction During recent years, cochlear implantation has become an established treatment option for some patients with auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder (ANSD). In a study from Berlin et al. (2010), 85% of the patients diagnosed with ANSD had developed improved speech comprehension and language acquisition with a cochlear implant (CI). This study investigates the implant electrically evoked auditory brainstem responses (impEABR) in ANSD children. Do the impEABR results in non-ANSD children differ from children with ANSD, in terms of amplitude of eV and latency of eV ImpEABR is a known procedure for testing adults and children with a CI and in some cases it can predict speech recognition outcomes. A study from Walton et al. (2008) shows the use of impEABR measurements on a large number of patients with CI as an indicator of speech perception performance.
