AT MINIMUM, A REGISTERED dietitian's (RD) career includes completing a rigorous academic program and supervised pra -ctice, passing a credentialing examination, contemplating diverse practice and employment options, and engaging in lifelong learning throughout one's career. For most RDs, their entry-level professional career involves providing medical nutrition care and expertise.1 Some RDs choose to manage nutrition services, products, people, and financial resources, whereas others have careers that require the provision of both medical nutritional care and management oversight concurrently.
